Running Form Running Form This rubric gives different criteria for lower body form and arms/upper body form for running. Rubric Code: AXX3226 By abbatiellom Ready to use Public Rubric Subject: Physical Ed., Fitness Type: Assessment Grade Levels: 6-8, 9-12

Running Form
	Mastery 4 pts	Proficient 3 pts	Developing 2 pts	Needs Improvement 1 pts
Arms & Upper Body 100 %	Mastery Arms move in opposition to legs, elbows bent.	Proficient Arms move in opposition to legs, elbows bent.	Developing Arms move in opposition inconsistently	Needs Improvement Arms do not move in opposition of legs.
Feet 100 %	Mastery Brief period where both feet are off the ground (period of suspension)	Proficient Brief period where both feet are off the ground (period of suspension).	Developing Feet are on ground together on occasion.	Needs Improvement Feet are always on the ground, together.
Jogging/Sprinting 100 %	Mastery Jogging: foot placement is heel, mid-foot, ball of foot Sprinting: foot placement landing on balls of feet; (neither are flat footed).	Proficient Foot placement is correct the majority of the time.	Developing Landing is flat-footed the majority of the time.	Needs Improvement Landing is always flat footed..
Lower Body 100 %	Mastery Nonsupport leg bent approximately 90 degrees (i.e. close to gluteus)	Proficient Knee bend is less than 90 degrees	Developing Knee bend varies in degrees	Needs Improvement Slight or no knee bend
