Band Performance
	A- Excellent 5 pts	B- Good 4 pts	C- Average 3 pts	D-Fair 2 pts	F- Poor 1 pts
Articulation	A- Excellent All articulation patterns are performed correctly.	B- Good Almost all articulation patterns are correct with only an occasional small error.	C- Average Student usually follows the articulation marked but there are frequent or repeated small errors.	D-Fair Difficulty with tonguing slurring patterns and/or accents.	F- Poor No real attempt at articulation is being made.
Pitch Accuracy	A- Excellent Pitches are correct and has a quality sound for that instrument. (1 mistake or less)	B- Good Mostly correct with a few errors in pitch or rhythm. (2-3 mistakes)	C- Average Shows a good feel for the notes in the piece but there are frequent or repeated small mistakes in pitch. (4-5 mistakes)	D-Fair Many notes are incorrect <BR> - student seems unfamiliar with the tune. (6 or more mistakes)	F- Poor No recognizable tune is present.
Tone Quality	A- Excellent Tone is full and well projected. A truly characteristic sound for the instrument.	B- Good Considerable use of projection and fullness of tone but still somewhat short of a mature sound.	C- Average Fair use of projection and fullness of tone. There may be room for improvement in: 1. posture 2. embouchure 3. breath support	D-Fair Limited projection - tone is poor or range is limited due to the need for a stronger embouchure or breath support.	F- Poor Sound is totally lacking in quality due to a poorly formed or weak embouchure or breath support.
Accurate Rhythm	A- Excellent Steady pulse with accurate rhythms at all times.	B- Good Steady pulse with few rhythmic errors.	C- Average Pulse is fairly steady but there are frequent or repeated small rhythmic errors.	D-Fair Pulse is unstable with major rhythmic errors.	F- Poor No evidence of steady pulse
Musicality	A- Excellent Student consistently plays with appropriate dynamics, phrasing & tempo.	B- Good Student displays ability to play with correct dynamics, phrasing & tempo with only minor errors.	C- Average Use of dynamics is narrow and/or playing is inconsistent in tempo or style.	D-Fair Rarely uses dynamics and/or follows indications of tempo or style.	F- Poor Student does not give attention to dynamics, tempo or style indications.
