Illustrate an Idea/Theme from Tales of Beedle the Bard
Students will create an 8.5x11 illustration to inform others of the main idea/theme of the selection they read. The main idea will be clearly stated and illustrated. At least three supporting details are also identified and illustrated.

The illustration has 3 supporting details from the article but they may not be the most supportive evidence from the story. The details are labeled but may be messy and difficult to read.
Level 3 (70-79%)
The illustration has 3 supporting details from the article. The supporting details are strong evidence of the main idea proving it true.<BR>

Level 4 (80-100%)
The illustration has more than 3 supporting details from the story. The supporting details are strong evidence of the main theme/idea proving it true.<BR>

Drawings/Pictures

The pictures lack detail, are messy or seem to have nothing to do with the evidence provided by the supporting detail.<BR>
The student only used one color or scribbled without effort when drawing on the illustration.

The drawings demonstrate the supporting details but may be messy, making the illustration look rushed or cluttered.

Level 1 (50-59%)
The illustration is sloppy, cluttered and does not show proper planning. It may have the Main Theme/ Idea but may not label. Some Supporting Details are are missing and not labeled.The pictures are messy and scattered, or missing. They may not have anything to do with the main theme/idea. Over all the work is cluttered or lacking in detail.

The illustration shows that some thought went into the work and that some planning took place. The work is a bit messy but does include: Main Idea, Supporting Details, and Drawings/Pictures. Labels are present on most parts. The pictures are mostly near the supporting detail they illustrate. The work may be cluttered but most work on the illustration supports the main idea.

The illustration is proof of hard work and well thought out planning. It is neat and includes: Main Idea, Supporting Details, and Drawings/Pictures. The Main Idea and Supporting Details are labeled. The pictures are placed near the supporting detail they illustrate. The work is not cluttered and everything on the posters supports the main idea to persuade the reader.

The pictures are placed near the supporting detail they illustrate.
