Explanation	Novice Student has given little or no response or explanation.	Good Student has given an adequate response and/or explanation.	Excellent Student has given a complete response with a detailed explanation.
Vocabulary	Novice Student uses little or no unit vocabulary in response.	Good Student uses some unit vocabulary correctly.	Excellent Student frequently and correctly uses unit vocabulary.
Constructed Response	Novice Student restated questions inaccurately or did not restate any part of the question in the answers.	Good Student restated some of each question in the answers or restated somewhat accurately.	Excellent Student completely and accurately restated each question in the answers.
Use of Visuals	Novice Student provided no diagram or example for each question.	Good Student provided an inappropriate or unclear diagram or example for each question.	Excellent Student provided a clear, accurate diagram or example for each question.
Math Reasoning	Novice Student's response shows little or no understanding of the concept, processes or mathematical ideas.	Good Student's response shows substantial understanding of the concept, processes, & mathematical ideas.
