Student is able to correctly illustrate and label each of the three states of matter. All drawings are neat, in color, and clearly identifiable.

Student is able to correctly illustrate and label at least two of the three states of matter. The drawings are neat, in color, and clearly identifiable.
Fair

Student is able to illustrate at least one of the three states of matter. Drawings may not be neat or in color, but are identifiable. Labels may be incomplete.
Poor

Student is not able to illustrate some of the states of matter, but drawings and coloring are not neat or not used, and labels may be missing or incorrect.

Student is able to list four examples for each of the three states of matter. The list is neat and correct.

Good

Assignment is completed and turned in on time as assigned with name listed. May be missing last name or complete heading.
Fair

Assignment is completed on time as assigned, but name is missing. Student later identifies paper.
Poor

Assignment turned in incomplete or not as assigned, but on time with name and turned in on time to correct place.
