Stretch the top two corners of the fitted sheet over the two corners at the top end of the mattress.
Pull the sheet tight and stretch the bottom two corners over the bottom corners of the mattress.
TIP: The fitted sheet should fit snuggly.
Spread the flat sheet over the bed face down - meaning the finished surface should be against the fitted sheet and the unfinished surface should be visible.
Arrange the sheet so that it hangs evenly over both long sides of the bed, with the top end of the mattress and the bottom edge hanging over the end.
Tuck the bottom end of the sheet under the mattress, making sure it's smooth and not crumpled.
Tuck one side of the sheet under a long side of the mattress so a vertical fold is created at the bottom corner of the bed.
Repeat these steps on the other side of the bed, making sure to tug firmly on the sheet to create a smooth, tight surface.
TIP: If you use a duvet with a duvet cover that you can remove and wash, you don't need to use a flat sheet and a blanket.
Fold the loose portion at the top of the flat sheet over the blanket, smooth it out, and tuck in both sides.
TIP: If you have a comforter or thick quilt, you don't need to tuck it in - just place it atop the flat sheet.
Spread the bedspread over the bed, making sure both sides and the bottom are draped evenly around the bed.
And finally, put the pillows in pillowcases and position them at the top of the bed.
