Persuasive Essay Imaginative Story This is a test grade. Students write a four to five paragraph essay persuading on a topic that is appropriate yet contraversial for middle school students. Point of View Picture Writing
	Poor 40 pts	Fair 70 pts	Good 100 pts
Quality of writing	Poor Quality of writing is very low. The story is not persuasive, has little voice, and is not very interesting to read.	Fair Quality of writing is alright. The story is a little persuasive, has a good amount of voice, and is semi interesting to read.	Good Quality of writing is high. The story is very persuasive, has a great amount of voice, and is very interesting to read.
Conventions	Poor Student makes eleven or more convention errors.	Fair Student makes six to ten convention errors.	Good Studnet makes five or less conventions errors.
Persuasive Strategies	Poor One or less persuasive strategy present. The paper is not convincing at all.	Fair Some, but not all, persuasive strategies are present. The paper is still persuasive, but it could be more convincing.	Good Ethos, logos, kairos, and pathos are all present creating a very persuasive paper.
Directions	Poor Paper is not in MLA. Student did not follow the directions.	Fair Paper partially follows MLA format. Student did not follow some of the directions.	Good Paper follows MLA format. Student followed all of the directions.
