Create a scale model of some Roman architecture, art, or another piece of material culture. This is a broad group to choose from. It can be: 1) a model of an aqueduct, temple, or other engineering marvel; 2) a statue, vase, mosaic, or other 3-D art of significance; or, 3) clothing, jewelry, coin, military gear, or other object of material culture. A short written component and photo/video log will accompany the product. This must be portable in the classroom (no huge creations).

Working at home, students will produce a cooking video that details the cooking process of their selected dish.

This rubric is designed for a performance assessment in which Gr. 8 students, in assigned groups, will use vocabulary, grammar and language convention concepts to present, in a unique and creative fashion, to an appropriate grade-level audience in order to get their message across 'en français'. As well, they may share new ideas learned using their assigned magazine.

Students should understand that their participation mark begins at 0 and then is built up through active participation. Students DO NOT automatically recieve a perfect participation mark at the beginning of the term and then "lose points" through non-participation.
