A rubric for assessing poster relating to document based questions. BENCHMARK SS.10.3.7: Describe the events that led the United States into World War I

This rubric describes the requirements that students are to meet in order to gain full points for social studies essay.

Jigsaw Base Group will choose a topic from reading to present to the class. Presentation will be presented by members chosen by the group, and will have supplemental poster or other visual aid.

Students will read from various articles and present their article information in a poster presentation. (Jigsaw)

This rubric is meant to help guide in the creation of your PowerPoint presentation project. Each category in the far left column represents a component of the project that will be taken into consideration when calculating the final grade for this assignment. Review the rubric carefully before, during and after the creation of the PowerPoint presentation, to ensure that all intended elements of your powerpoint have been represented and all other criteria have been met.

To get a job interview you must do something that impresses a company enough to want to get to know you more. A resume may be your only chance to make this impression. Construct a resume based upon a future job that you would like to prepare for or construct a resume based on a current job that you are trying to obtain.

Guidelines for scoring an expository essay.

Research the approved topic. Submit one 7-10 page typed paper, double spaced, 12 point font following MLA guidelines. Include a bibliography citing at least 5 resources used researching the paper. (use quotes from all 5)sources should include a news paper, professional journal, your text and two other books. Quotes can not be more than 5 lines. You are encouraged to interject your personal opinion into this paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the topic, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and bibliography.

Students construct a proposal to respond to problems and issues in society.

CC.8.W.1: Students will write arguments to support claims with clear reasons and relevant evidence.

Research the approved topic. Submit 1200 word typed paper, double spaced, 12 point font following MLA guidelines. Include a bibliography citing at least 3 sources used researching the paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the topic, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and bibliography.

The students will put together a brochure. The brochure will contain information that the students have garnered from career exploration.

Research the approved topic. Submit at least 4 typed pages publishing the results of your research. Include a bibliography citing at least 4 resources used researching the paper. Use at least one Internet citation, one interview, and one print resource. Using a power point presentation or other graphic media is not required but will earn extra credit. Paper will be graded on suffiency of research to support the thesis, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, and relevance of included information. One-third of the grade will be based on organization, clarity, use of transitions, appropriate voice, correct citation format, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
