12 Rubrics  Title      Built By  1 Guitar Progress Report Assessment          This rubric will assess guitar performance for: Beginning guitarist playing chords End of quarter progress report Grade Levels:   6-8   musicfay 2 Recorder Assessment          This rubric will be used with individual students for a performance assessment and determine if the student has earned a recorder belt. Students earn a belt by a score of 16/20. Grade Levels:   K-5   musicfay 5 Franklin Guitar Assessment          This rubric will assess guitar performance for: Guitar 1-4 Grade Levels:   9-12   musicfay 6 Music Composition          Build a musical composition 8 measures long that uses the pitches and rhythm symbols provided. Grade Levels:   K-5   musicfay 7 Famous Musician          You will be given a musician to study. You must RESEARCH your musician and SELECT a song of particular interest to you. You will write three paragraphs. In paragraph 1, you will introduce your musician and give a short biography. In paragraph 2, you will state the style of music they play and describe specific characteristics of their music. For example, do they use a steel guitar? Do they use personal stories? Look in your notes about the characteristics of the styles of music that we have studied. Also, what have critics said about your artist's style and technique? In the 3rd paragraph, you will express why you've selected this particular piece. For example, how did the piece make you feel? Does the piece speak to you? MUST BE TYPED! You may present your selection as a recording or you may perform it. Grade Levels:   6-8   musicfay 8 Copy of My Musical Instrument          Students create a musical instrument using recyclable products; will demonstrate how sound is produced by the instrument; will draw an illustration showing "regular" instruments that make similar sounds and naming the family of instruments to which they belong. Grade Levels:   K-5   musicfay 9 Stomp Ensemble          Create a performance piece that includes rhythm, improv, drama and movement similar to the performance group, Stomp.
