Create an original siege machine that would work just as good, if not better than, the Trojan Horse. This rubric is designed for prompts that require a specific response for each paragraph. Each paragraph's topic sentence will be the thesis for that paragraph.

Students will research one ancient Chinese invention. present their information in a poster presentation.

• DIORAMA(30 points) : Pick a scene from the play and create a diorama. A diorama is a miniature scene in a box. With your created diorama, you will write a one-page explanation of the scene and characters in the scene and why you believe this was an important scene in the play.

Students will read a novel. Students will write a complete summary of the novel to be presented to teacher/class. Students will chose particular passages from the summary. Students will then do a final presentation of work for class on topic. The student will be able to choose from a song, poem, power point,poster,play etc. They will also be able to choose to work with a partner

The students have read and discussed many Pourquoi Tales and must create their own after learning about Narrative Writing.

A How-to Essay is a written, step-by-step explanation of a process. Choose a process that you enjoy and write a how-to essay that will help readers perform the process, even if it's something they've never done before.

In honor of Black History month, the student will compare and contrast African American Saints to African American Scientist, Mathematician, or Inventor. In preparation for this assignment, the student will have had instruction in the writing process, sentence structure, capitalization, end marks, and will have researched both of his/her chosen distinguished people.

Write a personal narrative about an event in your life that was meaningful and memorable to you.

Students will use this rubric as they write a Social Studies research paper. It will be their grading rubric when the paper is completed.

Evaluate completion of the Four Square Writing Method

After choosing a topic from the book, describe the events as they happened by making an interesting article. Be sure to have a drawing with your article.

This rubric is to be used to assess a student's final copy of a newspaper article.
