Students were asked to brainstorm three ideas for winter themed stories. They were then asked to choose one to develop into a narrative. Their story needed to have characters, a setting, a problem, and solution. Other requirements were discussed and worked on throughout the creation of their stories.

Students are creating 'Year End Trip' posters for Grades 4 - 7. The poster will include all necessary information outlining the 'trip destination'. The poster advertisement will be created with persuasive details and illustrations using effective word choice. Poster must include: Trip Destination, educational benefits, curriculum connections, timelines for trip, safety conerns, effective word choice, persuasive vocabulary, details on trip experience

For Canadian History Month, the student is to research, write, and present a biography on an important Canadian historical figure. This biography includes information on the person's early life, what led them to their chosen career or purpose, what contributions they made to society, interesting or unique facts about the person, and the student's own reflections about the impact that the person and their contributions have on modern times.
