Students write their own lyrics and create their own music. They must have a song, complete with lyrics, original music and performance.

Students will create a magazine advertisement using persuasive details and vivid adjectives. Advertisement can be for an original product(a product you create) or a product that is already on the market ( create a new ad for Pepsi, etc). Choose HOW you want to market and your target audience. Decide how best you can persuade those buyers to purchase your product.

Students will be given a topic to perform an impromptu speech.

Students will create a comic strip, by hand, to depict a scene from the novel "Trapped".

After reading chapters 1-12 of the novel "Trapped", students will create a poster to depict one aspect of the novel, thus far, that has had the most impact on them.

After reading Myths and holding class discussions about myths the students are writing their own myths. They will create a myth that explains a nature phenomena of their choice.

Myths often convey a moral lessons. In the story Arachne the Spinner, Arachne learned a lesson. What was this lesson? Create a billboard to caution people of such behavior.

We have studies four types of poetry in class. You will compose on of each type. 3 cinquains, 1 haiku, 1 limerick, and 1 ABC

Students chose a book to read independently and then review.

You have read a few Native American myths and have some idea about Greek myths. Create a myth to explain the natural phenomena that you have been assigned.

You will create a letter written in the main character's voice to another character in the book. You will describe the life changing situation you are now facing.

You have read a few autobiographies now it's your turn to write your own biography.

For Black History Month, you will research, write, and present a biography on an important historical figure. This biography includes information on the person's early life, what led them to their chosen career or purpose, what contributions they made to society, interesting or unique facts about the person, and your own reflections about the impact that the person and their contributions have on modern times.

Students interviewed a classmate, and wrote a biography of their interests.

Create your own song/rap telling the story of Icarus or Phaeton. Be sure to base your piece on real details from the myth.
