For Black History Month, the student is to research, write, and present a biography on an important historical figure. This biography includes information on the person's early life, what led them to their chosen career or purpose, what contributions they made to society, interesting or unique facts about the person, and the student's own reflections about the impact that the person and their contributions have on modern times.

Students must choose an everyday ordinary object and write a story about it. The object and story must be school appropriate, but otherwise there are no restrictions on the object or what the story is about. The story must center around the object and it must be at least two double-spaced typed pages.

Create a personal profile of a person (real or imagined) on half of a poster board or bullitin board paper. The profile must be divided into the following sections: the image of the person-including what the person looks like; their personality description; their likes and dislikes, a list of friends-each with small descriptions.
