Any current freshmen,sophomore or junior student that is interested in becoming a Student Ambassador for the 2019-2020 school year will go through an interview process. This process will include completing an application, three completed teacher recommendations, an oral interview, and other factors such as good grades, good discipline record and good attendance.

3 rubric "Stress and Body Systems" Presentation       popup preview  
Each group of students will be assigned a stressful scenario and a body system. Each group will need to determine whether their stressful situation is an example of distress or eustress, and whether the stressor could have been prevented by making a different choice. Lastly, each group is to draw a detailed diagram explaining how the fight or flight response affects their assigned body system.

Each student will create his/her own family tree. After discussing healthy relationships and various types of families, students will draw their own family tree and define what type(s) of family that they come from. Students will also complete a writing portion of the assignment, as well.

Students will create a poster raising awareness about bullying and why bullying is so dangerous. Students should try to encourage readers why they shouldn't bully others.

Students will be able to choose from one of the following assignments: Formal essay (800 words or more), hypothetical letter (500 words or more), creative communication (poster, video or song), or abstinence brochure.

Students will create an informational poster that one might find in the waiting room of a doctors office, to inform others of the harmful effects of using various legal and illegal drugs. This should have accurate information and be very eye appealing. Sources should be included.

Each group of students will be assigned a specific culture. Groups are to research traditional food choices for that culture, and create a menu for one day using only foods from that culture. Must use foods from all five food groups and correct daily servings. Must also stay within their BMR. Presentations can include art, technology or music. **NOTE: Any student that chooses music for presentation must accompany the song with some type of visual presentation.

Each group of students will be assigned a specific culture. Then, each group is to research traditional food choices of that cultural area and create a presentation showing these food choices to the class. This includes the menu. Students may choose to present their findings through art, technology, or music. **NOTE: If a group decides to create a song, they must accompany the song with some type of visual presentation.
