Students will define the flooring of their dream house, calculate the area of a floorplan and determine the area (sq. ft and/or sq. metres) of their house for each type of floor. They will calculate the total cost of materials to cover the floor of their dream house.

Students develop a business plan for a retail or service business that they are personally interested in starting. Each student will be responsible for all portions of the comprehensive plan that covers everything, including Executive Summary, Business Description, writing a mission statement, developing the marketing plan, etc. Students must adhere to all deadlines.

Discussion is a very important part of the Theologies of Suffering course. As ministers, you will be expected to write clearly and engage others in discussion. Your moving company has decided to tackle a new challenge, helping people move to a new country. However, your customers are concerned that the furniture they own will not fit into their new, international homes. The dimensions and measurements of their new homes are given to them in the metric system, and all of the measurements and dimensions of their belongings are in the customary system of measurement. You are given the layout of a person’s new home with measurements listed in the metric system, along with a list of furniture and belongings to be put in that new home with their measurements listed in the customary system. You must convert the measurements of the furniture and belongings to the metric system to make sure that they will fit in the new home. After you decide whether or not the furniture will fit the new home, and then make a presentation clearly showing your work and how you reached your conclusion to show to your potential customers.

Self Assessment - Math HL IA - Exploration

Students enter classroom and begin tasks. Students are prepared with supplies and materials. Students are focused and on task. Students participate in group assignments.

Students are to draw precise Blaise Pascal's Limaçons, using only compass.

Students will be divided into groups of four to read and discuss math riddles. Excepts of the book "The man who counted" will be given and groups will discuss Beremiz's role in each of the riddles.

Students find benchmark measurements for length, weigth, liquid measurement, and time using both U.S. Standard measurement and Metric measurement.

This assignment is for a beginning level statistics class on the Integrated Math 8. Project consists of 2 parts: Data research: collection, presentation and analysis and oral presentation about results.
