Students will experiment with different lines and different techniques for shading. Students will practice their techniques on mandalas.

Students will create a 5 space value scale and use drawing pencils to effectively demonstrate how to create a variety of values that move steadily from black to gray to white. There will be a total of 4 scales: #2, General, 2H and Ink-stipple, hatch or cross-hatch

Using the grid provided, draw the contour lines in their coordinating square. Accuracy and drawing ONE square at a time should be your priority.

Students will create a landscape drawing based upon a famous work of art. Students will create a foreground, middle ground, and background using line techniques. This unit will help students examine the history of landscapes in light of current ecological concerns around the world.

The purpose of your slide is to tell your reader how to do or make basic pottery. Do's and Don'ts, hands-on imagery, and formatting are a must. Humor is encouraged.

Students will create a model of a human skeleton using non-traditional materials. Students will use vocabulary cards to label the main bones in their skeleton.

After reading the article and conducting independent research on populism, students will create a drawing expressing their take on how this phenomenon has influenced their world. The drawing subject matter can be any that the student feels is impacting them currently, that ties into this cultural shift. (All subject matter must be appropriate for school)

Create a poster to educate your class about a specific disease. You must include the diagnosis,prevention,treatment, causes, etc.

Create a motion graphics animation (10-20 seconds) that represents the nursery rhyme "Little Miss Muffet". Include the little girl, spider, and bowl of whey. You must also have a text title, audio and a background setting.

Complete a powerpoint about body systems. Your powerpoint must include: The Endocrine and Exocrine Systems The Central Nervous System The Peripheral Nervous System The Cardiovascular System The Respiratory System The Digestive System The Excretory System The Reproductive System The Lymphatic System The Immune System

Students will transform their photograph to a line drawing. Adding "coloring" to finish the transformation into a living coloring page. To complete the piece, students will also transform items/objects in the background that relate to them personally. Applying the same technique to finish work

Students create their own unique slice of cake boxes slab They will utilize and put to practice the techniques from previous lessons: coil, slab, score, slip and relief. The details should be creative and ideas we see in real-life cake slices (icing, icing piping, layers,etc.)

This rubric will be used for all pieces that are glazed in pottery. The use and application techniques will be assessed as well as craftsmanship and appropriate use of medium.

In Adobe Illustrator, develop & design a product and logo for an elite shoe company. The vector art should be similar to the logo and concept for the company that the student has chosen, yet be creative and original.Students must save the design in the correct file format and place. Don't forget your celebrity endorser!!

Students will select 4 worn photographs (wrinkles, rips, fading, etc.) to restore using the clone tool in PhotoShop. Students will need to color match the coordinating areas to "fix" the photo and restore it to new. (Optional turning B/W to color)

Students will study insects and the Victorian Era to create a Steampunk insect. They will be using mechanical, plastics and metal objects with wire to make a 3D bug that can stand alone. Focus will include form, texture, balance and unity.

Refined cropping to create an interesting section of a fruit or flower. You will be working large scale to recreate an interesting section of the image you select. (1PR- Demonstrate proficient technical skills and craftsmanship with various art media when creating images from observation, memory, or imagination.)

For starters you will learn how to setup a simple grid and how to create a a bunch of pixel perfect shape that will help you create the main logo shape. Using basic masking, blending and vector shape building techniques you will learn how to add some subtle highlights and texture. Taking full advantage of the Appearance panel you will learn how to add color, shading and more texture for your background and the logo shape. Finally, you will learn how to add several, tiny, glowing spots

The students use the pinch pot method to create an "ugly mug". The finished mug must have a handle and each of the following facial features: eyes, nose, ears, mouth, and hair.

The students make a pinch pot style ceramic head with eyes, nose, ears, mouth, and hair.
