Rubric to grade LD Debate Cases for beginning Debate Class

Creating and Presenting: apply the creative process to dramatic radio play.

Students will use small groups to teach the entire class a new improv game.

A paragraph is a group of sentences supporting the topic sentence/main idea. This rubric will assess how well students develop the topic and support main ideas within a Graphic Organizer. Write one paragraph any subject have a topic sentence give at least three details that support your topic sentence and one concluding sentence. This is only a paragraph!!!

The student will perform a monologue focusing on presenting contrasting monologues and showing rules of competition

Students are assessed on their ability to interpret a scene or play construct their vision in accordance with the play's design and factoring in the integrity of the playwright's intent. Utilizing appropriate stage directions, and guide actors from class. In addition, students are assessed on a promotion and technical aspects necessary for all drama productions.

Students are to create a 2-3 minute stand up comedy routine and present it to the class. Props are optional, but limited to two. Comedic jokes must be original, following discussion about personal, observational, political humor. They may not not be vulgar, crude, racist or inappropriate in any way. Note cards may be used, but eye contact and rapore with audience is paramount

Students will give a personal experience speech on a topic of their choice to their peers. They will be assessed on content and delivery.

This rubric is meant to help guide in the creation of your presentation project. Each category in the far left column represents a component of the project that will be taken into consideration when calculating the final grade for this assignment. Review the rubric carefully before, during and after the creation of the presentation, to ensure that all intended elements of your powerpoint have been represented and all other criteria have been met.
