Guidelines for Expository Writing

This book report will contain multiple paragraphs and will be limited to one page minimum. Student name and date should appear in upper right corner of the page. First: The report should include the title and author of the book and a complete description of the main characters. Second: Descriptive Settings should be included (When and where did the story takes place?). Third: The main events should be included (What happened in the story?). Fourth: Why did you like or dislike the book? Fifth: Would you recommend this book to other sixth graders. Sixth: The report should include a summary of the author's overall message and/or the theme of the book.

Student will be able to complete multiplication tables 0-12 (x12)

The students will create a tri-foldable book using a 6 digit number. They will represent all the place value forms of the number. The number will be written in Standard Form, Expanded Form, Word Form. The students will show a place value chart,and they will state the value of each digit in the number.

Students will solve word problems using various math strategies. Students will show their work in the steps required to solving a math word problem, as demonstrated in class.
