This rubric provides a guide for assessing students' vocal quality, performance, range, and expression of a song prepared and practiced in a small group.

The student will demonstrate his/her knowledge and understanding of the life of the Habitant, how the Habitant survived, especially during the winter months.

In small group performance, students will present layered rhythmic ostinatos in a continuous performance that they have created. The ostinatos must be written down in accurate musical notation, each one containing 4 beats. Delivery should include a variety of percussive sounds and instruments. The group should be able to sustain the performance for at least 1 minute.

Students write a written response to a musical performance, using musical language to support their opinions and ideas.

Student is to create a presentation of an Olympic athlete or sport. Project is to include accurate information and pictures. Information must be in depth; student will give appropriate credit to where information was gathered - NO PLAGIARISM. Must be STUDENT ORIGINAL.
