Argument Essay 9-10th grade.

You will create a society in which the group is no more important than the individual and vice versa.

Students will create a board game about the epic poem The Odyssey, the object of which is to follow Odysseus on his journey from Troy to Ithaca.

Students will create a digital poster that demonstrates an understanding of a biome, its characteristics, the organisms that live there, the abiotic factors in an area, what threats the biome is facing and how those threats have been mitigated.

After reading four chapters in That Was Then, This is Now, you will complete the appropriate choice board row. For each row, you must chooses one question and one task to complete. When your choice board is complete, you should have answered three questions and completed three tasks. All "question choice" answers must be thoroughly explained in order to receive credit. Complete sentences and proper grammar should be used in all work.

This is a general rubric for novel projects. This general rubric also has a section (Following Directions) for grading the specific requirements of individual projects.

Using the Declaration of Independence as your guide, create your own Declaration of Independence. You will be assessed on how you work together in a group (class dependent), how well you follow the organization of the original Declaration of Independence, editing for conventions, word choice and ideas, and your presentation of the final document.

This report explores a common environmental concern: species that are in trouble. The trouble stems from the species either being near extinction (“endangered” or “threatened” or “a keystone species”) or out of place (“invasive species” or “non-native species”). Chose one species that falls into one of those categories as a focus of this report.

The students will develop and design a Magazine Spread that showcases your groups and interviews the group.
