A two page research paper that is legible, contains complete sentences, uses paragraphs and punctation appropriately, includes an outline and adds to the information presented in Chapters 1 & 2 of our New Jersey books.

Students will research information on the State of New Jersey and the regions and prepare two visual projects. One visual will represent the regions of NJ, the other will be the groups choice.

Students are to model a biome. The model should include appropriate living & non-living organisms present. It should include a description of the climate, what living & non-living organisms are present, how the living organisms meet their needs for survival, & an example of a food chain/web that exists in this environment. Students will need to state the name of a plant, animal, fungi, & protist of the biome. Students will also have to describe the relationships of the species of their choice.

Students are to thoroughly discuss biome characteristics: climate, flora/fauna, geographic location, weather patterns, biome importance to the global system.

Scenario: Ye King has granted thy permission to create and settle one more colony. Ye are to make one visual presentation of thy proposed colony. Ye must include a map that depicts thy other thirteen colonies and where yours will be located. Ye must also explain why that location was chosen. Ye must take all written research and write an essay that will be ye formal proposal.

Create A Colony Digital Story

Working in groups of five, students will work collaboratively on a presentation to the class based on the first two Chapters of the New Jersey book. Each group will prepare an 8 to 10 minute presentation to the class on their topic. Each group presentation shall include two visuals prepared by the group illustrating the regions of New Jersey and a creative visual decided upon by the group.
