For this assignment, you will write a newspaper article.Pretend you are a reporter and write a newspaper article about Billy Weaver. Include answers to the questions; who, what, where, when, why and how. Your article must address all five "Ws:" who, what, where, when, and why.

Students will create a comic strip to write an ending to "The Landlady" by Roald Dahl.

The student will type a summary and personal response of their independent reading book of at least one page from the provided book list. Student will include the title, author, and number of pages. With in the summary students will use a topic sentence that cites their book and author using the IVF topic sentence structure. The summary should include the main characters, the conflict and resolution, a summary of the plot, and a personal connection to the book. Students will also complete the notes for their book and turn in those notes with the typed summary/personal response.

Students summarized a current events using the following rubric.

Every month the student will complete a book report on a library book at the sixth grade level. The student has chosen to participate in "Book It" this month. This option allows the student to complete a detailed report on a book of their choice. For their extra effort, the student will be rewarded with a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. GT students must participate in "Book It". Students with a failing grade will not be rewarded. To receive credit the rubric must be attached to the top of the book report.
