Students will write an animal adaptations essay and build an adapted animal for final project of science unit. Included will be a brainstorming poster with illustration of animal and important facts about animal. Also included will be a rough draft of essay describing the animals environment and adaptations for survival, and a final draft of the essay with correct spelling, capitalizations, etc. to give to English teachers for a cross curricular grade (get English teacher's approval ahead of time and inform students this will be given to English teacher so students will know).

Students will create a digital or physical mobile where they will illustrate, label and explain the forms of nitrogen as it goes through the processes involved in the nitrogen cycle. Each process is explained using the who, what, when, how, why and when method in order to cover all aspects.

Students will know homework expectations which would include completeness, accuracy, requirements, legibility and time management.

Students must design a safety brochure illustrating safety elements necessary for a new grade 8 student to know and function in the lab.

Students pairs must design a safety poster or brochure illustrating one of the safety rules discussed in class. Individual students could choose to write a science lab safety fictional story or create a cartoon on Lab safety.

You are an inhabitant of a planet of the solar system. Your job is to create a brochure that would convince others to travel to your planet. You should include your introductions, some basic facts about your planet, color of your planet, how close it is from the Sun, how close it is from the moon and how big it is . You are also welcome to make a model of your planet to go along with your brochure. (it is not a requirement) Your description is in Spanish. Your teacher will show you a sample.

This assesses a story that students write about something travelling through the digestive system.

Students are to design an experiment which can be conducted in the classroom. Projects must include a puprose, hypothesis, research, step by step experiment instructions and a method to display data. Students then present their experimental results to the class.

Students design and carry out an experiment to determine which paper towel is most absorbent.
