This rubric is for evaluating argument essays and the ability to formulate argumentative writings. You read 3 articles in class and used a template to write your argument. The assignment is to write a 5- paragraph argument, including a counter argument, on whether cell phones should be allowed for academic purposes in the classroom.

Research Paper Rubric
Research an author to determinw the cultural and literary influences that have affected his or her style (and subjects) of writing. Use MLA format for the heading, body, parenthetical notes, works cited, etc. Submit 3-5 typed pages of publishing the results of your research. Include a Works Cited page with at least 5 sources used researching the paper. Two must be by the author. The other three must be about the author. Paper will be graded on quality of research, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, and relevance of included information. Grade will be also consider organization, clarity, use of transitions, appropriate voice, correct citation format, grammar, spelling and punctuation. Because the rubric will be used with novice writers, students will be able to get an A without reaching full mastery of all items.
