SS.5.A.1.2 Utilize timelines to identify and discuss American History time periods.

Students are to create a timeline (can be horizontal, vertical, diagonal, etc) concerning important events in history from the Era of Exploration through the American Revolutionary War. There should be no less than 5 items on the timeline. Students are to include pictures that they believe represent the events on their timeline (you can either cut & paste or draw or trace pictures). The timeline is due Thursday, December 19,2013.

This Rubric will assess your performance in bringing together research and designing a poster on your explorer. Included in this project will be biographical information about the individual explorer, especially the reasons behind their explorations and their noted achievements. A poster will detail the information and graphics are to be included.

A poster with detailed information on the route taken is to be included.

Writer's Notebook Check for end for progress reports and/or end of the marking period.

A report and timeline on Explorer Routes.

Opinion Paragraph on one topic, include a sentence showing the students opinion, 3 reasons to support it and a conclusion sentence that restates the opinion.
