Create a book trailer to advertise your book.

Students will create a Facebook page for the main character in their book club novels.

Create a Facebook page using biographical information from the book you've read about the main character. Include the personal information, qualities, and contribution of the character. This Facebook page is an imaginary recreation of the "Facebook." The page should be the profile page and include conversations between you and the character, as well as other characters.

Students will create an illustration of any setting of their choice from their chosen book club book. The students will use text evidence from the book as justification for their drawing/art work.

Student will create a billboard to entice the audience to move his/her chosen colony.

This project is worth a total of 30 points.

Students will use their outline to write a rough draft of their assigned holiday.

Evaluates a narrative/personal essay

The student will create a state brochure over one of the fifty states.

Book Talk Rubric - Self-Selected Novel

The students will work in groups of 3-4 to create a board game based on the novel Where the Red Fern Grows by Wilson Rawls. The game should be either tiered or progressive (the contestants should either move from one level to the next or should follow along a path). The pattern used should be easy to follow. The students should work together to create a list of at least 7 rules. They should be easy to understand and neatly written. The information used in game play should reflect information from the text, or options the characters had but did not choose (what-ifs). The presentation of the game should be neat and creative. The game should be drawn on a poster board and include some artwork.
