Basic Rubric for any foldable project

Student is to "write" a diary of how they survived a week on a deserted island.

The introduction needs to capture the reader's attention and make them want to read the rest of your analysis. Your thesis statement should be the last sentence in your introduction. In the body you need to show the character's traits using examples and textual evidence to prove your analysis. You may show how the character changes, or how he/she is portrayed, or how the character has evolved and changed. In the conclusion show what you have learned from this character.

Students will write a short story using their vocabulary words.

Students will create a crossword puzzle for the vocabulary, people, and main ideas from the worksheet. (At least 15) Create the puzzle on the computer. The puzzle must be the student's original work and should include key vocabulary words.

Students will define a word, write the part of speech it is, a synonym and antonym use the word in a sentence and draw a visual related to the word

Students must create a slogan and jingle for an Institutional Promotion that focuses on the image of the Institution as being positive. The Institution that you will uses in Midland Valley High School. The advertisement must be a flyer and must use the three communication message approach. It must persuade, inform and express. ( Reference Chapter 36 in your assigned textbook, pg. 473). You may use the internet, magazines or art supplies. If you want your flyer printed in color you must save it to a flash stick and I will print it out for you.

Students will create a foldable laptop with webpages dealing with the text "Barrio Boy" or The Other Side of the Sky" It must include information of the author, blog with author of the text, at least one website/webpage related to the topic of story( immigration/ Middle East Problem) , website of other related story
