Percussion Dance Styles

Student will create a healthy breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu using nutrition labels. Nutrition labels must be included in the tri-fold menu.

Using google website, students will create a website for invasive species, identifying each student's individual page, and implementing a variety of: colour, font choice, non fiction text features, graphs, diagrams, pictures, maps, etc. Students will represent the Media Triangle, Production, Purpose, and Text.

Create a poster to educate your class about a specific drug. You must include the classification of the drug, its actual name and any known street names, how it affects your body & mind, its level of addictiveness, where it is found, what it looks like, why anyone might want to take it, a list of similar drugs and any other information that you think may be useful. In addition, a creative anti-drug slogan is to be included in your project.

Students select a TV commercials of their choice. Based on their findings, students write out and orally present an analysis demonstrating their critical thinking and communication skills using the Media Triangle.

Guidelines for scoring a comparison and contrast essay, based on comparing two fantasy novels compare the two heroes to determine which hero was the greatest. Please refer to the plot, setting, and characters in both novels (page references are not necessary)

Music Video: make a music video of your lip sync that includes, dramatic elements , the application of dance elements (BASTE), and new choreography to accompany the song choice. Include an individual reflection on the dance elements of BASTE.

The purpose of this assignment is to raise awareness and critical thinking by working on a series of photos that have something in common at the concept level and represent divergent thinking as it relates to our Toronto trip. Students are writing with the purpose of educating the reader on their invasive species. Non fiction text features should be used to complement this process as discussed in class with reference to the success criteria.

Develop a magazine article on your invasive species with the purpose of informing your reader. Write an article using proper grammar, punctuation, spelling, and non fiction text features discussed in class.

Students will select an invasive species to research and report upon in their Biodiversity Magazine. Science component.

Students will assume the point of view of their invaise species and recount the journey of their INVASION!

After a review of the colour wheel by the teacher, the student will create a unique colour wheel on paper. The student will correctly mix and paint, colour, or pastel the correct primary, secondary, and tertiary colours on the colour wheel in the correct position.
