For Black History Month, the student is to read a biography about an African American, and then write and present a biography poster on this important historical figure. This biography includes information about the person's life, what led them to their chosen career or purpose, what contributions they made to society, interesting or unique facts about the person, and the student's own reflections about the impact that the person and their contributions have on modern times.

Students are to create a timeline concerning important events of a familiar chosen person. The person can be a former President of the United States, a famous athlete, or an inventor for example. There should be no less than 5 items on the timeline. a label of the event (birth, death, etc.), the date of the event, and a short description of the event, etc. Descriptions should be in complete sentences .
