Divided in four groups, each group must research and describe one of the 10 watercolor techniques. You will create an example of the technique and directions for how to create the technique.

Students are expected to complete the assigned photography project and come to class fully prepared to discuss and critically analyze peer photos, as well as their own. Each class member is responsible for formulating ideas & responses to images presented and questions that may arise to enhance their own learning and the learning of others. Classes will be spent discussing technical aspects, composition, mood, and creativity of photographs.

Students will demonstrate knowledge of the Principles of Design with thumbnail drawings. Each thumbnail will represent one of the Principles: Proportion, Balance, Emphasis, Rhythm, Movement, Repetition, and Unity.

Draw in contour at least two hands in an expressive position. Cross contour lines then should be added to express the form of the hands. Give little or no attention to value. Pay attention to the accuracy of your drawing with correct proportions. Students will demonstrate (5) line qualities within an assessment: contour, blind contour, bold, crosshatching, and contour hatching.

Research the approved topic. Submit one 10 page typed paper, double spaced, following APA guidelines. Include a bibliography citing at least 3 resources used researching the paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the thesis, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and APA bibliography.

Project Grading for Weekly Artwork.

Students are to create a 3-5 minute stand up comedy skit and present it to the class. Props are optional, but limited to 2 only. Two of the "comedic/joke lines" must be original using criteria learned about creating jokes. 3 of the lines may be borrowed, but need to make sense with the overall presentation and must not be vulgar, crude, racist, or inappropriate in any way. No use of profanity is accepted. In the written presentation the students must acknowledge the person(S) whose work they borrowed.

This is an assignment to teach the student the power of shading values. Shadows make parts of the artwork appear to go back. Highlights bring other parts toward us. A gradient is a subtle change from shadows to highlights. Gradients done right give the appearance of 3D forms, not just shapes.

This rubric will assess a student's final grade on their Artistic Masterpiece, a long-term three week art project.

This rubric will assess a student's final grade on Art Projects. Categories Graded will be as follows: Style and Growth, Craftsmanship, Student Skill Applied/Art Technique Used, and Following Directions.

This presentation shall be for your own career project. You are to provide an: introduction, main topics/ subject matters, and a conclusion.

Students will create 3-d sculptural images based upon the style of Stella. The artwork shall be based upon balance and movement of a sport.

The following rubric will be used to grade your reflective writing of your artistic contributions to this project.

Students will have designated sketchbook time in class. Students will include assignments and notes in their sketchbooks.
