Dance Rubric for Dance 1400
These are the criteria I'll use to determine the grade for each dance taught in the class.

Choreography Project
A Collaborative Choreography Project requires a level of cooperation that many "artists" find difficult to navigate in the creative process. Understanding how one relates in this environment and how others work will inform the artist as he or she seeks to create new works for public display.

Social Dance Final Project Fall 2011
The dances will be graded upon its set up that includes ability to incorporate the right combination of steps and moves in accordance with the music, coordination, teamwork, posture, and energy.

Modern Dance Pioneer Rubric
Modern Dance Pioneer Rubric Activity: Choose one of the modern dance pioneers (Doris Humphrey, Charles Weidman, Martha Graham or Isadora Duncan) and prepare a detailed presentation and paper. Your presentation should include: demonstration of Pioneer technique with explanation, musical accompaniment, and precision* Your paper should include: a detailed and well written explanation of the technique a detailed and well written description of the Pioneer's technical and/or choreographic theory a detailed and informative description of the culture and history of the time in which this Pioneer lived and worked and how did that influence your Pioneer--include specific examples *this section in an online course will be submitted through video posting to instructor for grading and feedback

Group Choreography Project - Group Assessment
Instructor assess group efforts in producing a group choreography in which all members constributed

Disco Choreography Rubric
Disco Choreography: Students must memorize the given choreography, add 2 eight counts of disco movements and have smooth formation changes within the given choreography.

Effort Dance Choreography (using Foldable)
5-7 Count Choreography Criteria: Students must use the Effort foldable created in class to create a movement phrase. Bound, sustained, free flow, sudden, indirect, direct, strong and light. Students will also need to have Dance Variations (5): Different facings, Direction, Level changes, Tempo, Style.

Jazz/Broadway Dance Unit Project
A power point or video presentation rubric for Jazz/Broadway. You need to have a minimum of 10 slides or 10 specific facts included in the video.You should also sight your info on presentation either with a slide or video of resources. Presentations of Slide Shows and videos will start on November 8. Pick a Jazz or Broadway dancer/choreographer from the early or modern eras. All project should contain relevant information on the person including background, style of jazz, examples or description of choreographic style and specific performances and choreographical works. Only one person per jazz dancer/choreographer. Worth 100 points as test grade for unit.
