The students have been working on all the concepts leading up to adding/subtracting fractions. Comparing fractions with unlike denominators, making equivalent fractions, simplifying fractions, and now adding/subtracting fractions

Students will match decimal word forms to standard forms.

SWBA to transform a given figure under translation, reflection and rotation. Also, students will show and explain how the transformations were done.

This rubric will evaluate the student's ability to plot points correctly on a coordinate plane, to understand the terms and instructions of the lesson and to interpret their results through the use of data analysis and graphical understanding.

SWBA to create function machines that show a clear understanding of a pattern, including inputs and outputs.

In this project, students receive a function rule for one of three situations. They must determine which inputs they want to use for the function rule, calculate the outputs, and graph the function. Next, they must represent the function in a new way -- by building, drawing, or writing about it. Finally, they will explain how their function works in the real world through an oral presentation.

Task: Students will identify proper, improper and mixed fractions, use manipulatives to represent fraction collection.

Students will create a graphic organizer to demonstrate knowledge of main idea and detail. The main idea and details will be the focus of the graphic organizer and the supporting details will be evidence. The student will include at least four supporting details.

S.E. * Use variables to represent quantities in a real-world or mathematical problem, and construct simple equations and inequalities to solve problems by reasoning about the quantities. * Solve word problems leading to equations of the form px+q=r and p(x+q)=r, where p, q, and r are specific rational numbers. Solve equations of these forms fluently. Compare an algebraic solution to an arithmetic solution, identifying the sequence of the operations used in each approach.

Students will choose a police dog breed and research why the breed chosen is good for community/ police work. They will then illustrate their breed. The students will write a few sentences explaining why.

Students will apply their understandings of decimals to recognize and name compare and order decimals.

The student will explore the similarities and differences between properties of addition and multiplication. The student will organize and support their claims.
