webquest
The rubric will help to evaluate students on the assignment that is to be completed after going through the webquest. Students are asked to fill out a chart to help them collect their ideas and thoughts so that they can complete a short story that shows that they understand the parts of a story.

Book Report - Written Response to Independent Reading
This book report will contain multiple paragraphs and will be limited to one page minimum. Student name and date should appear in upper right corner of the page. First: The report should include the title and author of the book and a complete description of the main characters. Second: Descriptive Settings should be included (When and where did the story takes place?). Third: The main events should be included (What happened in the story?). Fourth: Why did you like or dislike the book? Fifth: Would you recommend this book to other sixth graders. Sixth: The report should include a summary of the author's overall message and/or the theme of the book.

Vocabulary Rubric
Vocabulary Builder: Students will demonstrated the knowledge of new words through recognition of parts of speech, the identification of the prefix, root, and/or suffix when applicable, definition of the word, use of the word in a context appropriate sentence, and demonstrate understanding of related words that share a common prefix or root (and suffixes only during specific study of such)

Reading Comprehension Questions
Students are given a reading comprehension quiz after reading a chapter of a book and participating in small group discussions. Students are expected to answer all questions in complete sentences using appropriate grammar and vocabulary.

Vocabulary Rubric - Frayer Model
Directions: Write the word in the center of the model and rate the word from 1-4. Under what it is, give a definition or explanation for the word and provide one synonym. Under what it is not , give an explanation of what the word IS NOT. Illustrate the meaning with a picture. Write a complete sentence using the word with good context clues to support meaning.
