This rubric is based on students developing digital media using tools they have already explored (Photoshop, InDesign, Canva). The content is exploring company, person, or movement that inspires them and creating a rebranding campaign.

This rubric is for the OCS Talk for Grade 9/10 Humanities. Standards were built by the students. PechaKucha presentation format.

Create a story that explores three life paths- eating, thinking, acting right; recreational drug use (smoking and drinking); junk food diet. Make sure to look at cost (health, relationships, and money) of living a healthy lifestyle vs not healthy options. Look at short and long term consequences.

Explore Canadian issues and how they are presented in different forms of media all around the world. Write a well-developed research essay using MLA citations on each of the following topics: “Religion in Canada” and “First Nations in Canada”

OKAA Centennial- Make a poster that highlights all the important transitions OKAA has gone through throughout its history (especially name and building changes).

Work with primary sources to make a diorama that shows what Kelowna would have looked like 100 years ago. You need a minimum of ONE structure, TWO different geographic features, and THREE different technologies. I would also encourage you to explore the diversity of Kelowna at the time (Ex. KUO MIN TANG building in Kelowna’s Chinatown). Bonus: Make OKAA’s original school.

Create a website that explores one of the following topics: Your website should include useful information, resources, links, videos/images, comment bar/forum with full class engagement- this could look like a Q and A where students ask questions about your topic and you must provide answers (2 questions from each student), organized appropriately/logically/critically to engage your audience and explore ethics and historical thinking, minimum of 2 primary sources and 3 secondary sources.

Continue your exploration of your immigrant group by looking at ethics. This should be the final piece to your entire work.

This rubric is for the Bible project for the OKAA Centennial: Make a visual collage/poster of what it means to be a Christian, Adventist, and student at OKAA. Look at what the Bible and Ellen White have to say about Education. See if you can get quotes from alumni about how OKAA has had a positive impact on their spiritual growth and commitment to Christianity.

Pick a major issue during the Cold War. Research the issue from a min. of 3 perspectives and create a poster, film, comic book, social media, or diorama visual that reflects the 3 different perspectives and how they compare and contrast, impact the world, results, relevancy, change/results, and the ethics of the issues. Reflect on how Canada’s involvement or lack of involvement created a clear identity of Canada peacekeepers.
