The students will work on their own to put together a pamphlet. The pamphlet will contain relevant information directly related to the theme of Suicide or Drunk Driving. Students will provide accurate information in a creative and colorful poster/pictures or scenarios to educate peers about the chosen topic. The pamphlet will be designed on a standard size sheet of paper.

Students are expected to complete the assignment and come to class prepared to discuss and critically analyze the material. Each class member is responsible for finding answers to questions that arise to enhance her own learning and the learning. Class format creates an experiential learning opportunity, class discussion will be an even more critical component of this course. Each class will be spent discussing reading, experiences, reflections, and interviews we have had with individuals.

Students are to work cooperatively to complete assignment. Students will be provided with vocabulary terms. Individuals within the group are responsible to present their work both from the text and extended beyond the textbook. Basic vocabulary words are presented. Each member supports the group discussion. Group members look up the word and provide the group with the definition of the words and provide examples. Group members will present their findings to the class.

The project is to develop a power point presentation describing an assigned disease. This project would be for a highschool health (9-12) class which is a requirement for high school graduation. The minimum number of slides in th powerpoint is 15 and the maximum is 25. The requirements include; what is the disease; cause; signs and symptoms; incubation period; treatment; prognosis; prevention; foundations dedicated to research about the disease; and well known people who suffer from the disease. Include 5 appropriate graphics/pictures. Questionable ones need to be preapproved by the teacher. Also include a title slide and a works cited/reference slide with at least 5 sources.

Each Student will be given a scientist to research. They are to write a short research paper on the work and life of that person. The rubric is designed to guide students in the expectations.
