Used to evaluate sewing projects

Students design and produce wearable clothing from a minimum of three recycled, reused or repurposed items using an obvious theme. The final presentation will be a "fashion" show with student write-ups describing their clothing, theme and their recyclables. Clothing must include: a hat, shoes, a top and a bottom (pants or skirt) or dress and an accessory item, such as belt, jewelry, gloves, leg warmers, glasses, etc. Items must hang on a hanger and be removable by the wearer.

Fashion Re-Design, Recycle, Fit, Alteration, and Repair

Students are given 5 baseball caps and are instructed to deconstruct the hats to create a useable fashion accessory.

The student is to research, write, and present a biography on an important fashion designer. This biography includes information on the person's early life, what lead them to their chosen career or purpose, what contributions they made to fashion, 3-5 interesting or unique facts about the person, and the student's own reflections about the impact that the person and their contributions have on modern fashion.

A one page summary and critique of an article concerning Using the example rubric for article critiques as a guide and this area specific grades rubric, provide a critical review of the article and illustrate how the article supports the course learning outcomes. Your critique should demonstrate critical thinking and a comprehensive analysis of the article.

Students will create a how-to video that explains the process of pickling or preserving fruits.

This rubric is meant to help guide in the creation of your PowerPoint presentation project. Each category in the far left column represents a component of the project that will be taken into consideration when calculating the final grade for this assignment. Review the rubric carefully before, during and after the creation of the PowerPoint presentation, to ensure that all intended elements of your powerpoint have been represented and all other criteria have been met.

Students will choose a topic related to nutrition and diet therapy and complete an educational brochure for a selected population. For example, a brochure highlighting proper nutrition during lactation for breastfeeding or expectant mothers would be appropriate. Topic must be approved by instructor before beginning. Please see the attached rubric or the instructor for additional help. A total of 30 points is possible.

Students will work together to create a PSA type commercial 2-3 min.. The presentation will contain relevant information directly related to nutrition facts, healthy eating and statistics from all relevant videos/notes.

Create and present a PowerPoint presentation based on YOUR Career Research. The purpose is to inform the class about the chosen occupation for your career plan.
