Using the Engineering Design Process, think about activities to include in the School's Fall Festival. Make a product then write to explain how you used the process to accomplish.

Students will research a Spanish explorer who navigated the sea/ocean to find new lands. They must include details that include the sea vessel, maps, technology used in navigation, country maps, ocean route, obstacles they had to overcome, and the impact the exploration had on land and people.

Students demonstrated their understanding of weather by using hands-on items to create one weather condition.

Students identify, label, and create objects in the day and night sky. They also created objects to help magnify objects seen.

Students work with their family's to create a family tree. This activity is teaching students to complete tree diagrams while learning about their family. Students must also include the climatic conditions in the country their family are from or where a member if the family llives that is similar or different to where the student lives. Student must include a picture of a family pet and wriite his name name, and also a picture of a plant they have in their garden at home.

Students will create a character from a book they have read. They will use a brown and/or white (1 pound size) paper bag to create the main and another character from the story. They must dress the character by illustrating their clothing and features. They must also write a sentence about what each character says or does.

After reading "Cloudy with the Chance of Meatballs," students will create a raindrop and write what they wish to fall with that raindrop.

Students tell about themselves using numbers, for example, birth date, age, number of siblings, amount of people in their family etc.

Students in 1st grade will practice addition using hands on manipulative to represent numbers from 1 - 10. The manipulative such as beans, corn, etc., must be glued to the math project.

Students will work in groups to create collages that represents diversity, family, and friends.

Students must decide on and create a model of something that represents motion. They must reuse recyclable materials in their creation. Additionally, students will write a sequence of directions, using transition words, to explain how to make their creation. They must measure and compare their design to at least two other classmates'.

After reading/listening to Dr. Martin Luther Kings speech, students demonstrated their understanding by writing their own dream of how they would like the world to be.

Students sorted pictures of two different animal groups magazines showing how the are alike and different. They labeled each picture to differentiate different animals within each group. They then had to compare and contrast two of animals within their group. Last they will write facts that compare them.
