Essay will analyze one of the paitnings, poems or songs chosen. In this essay, write a response to your chosen artisitc piece. Describe key elements (such as rhythm, rhyme, alliteration, assonance, onomatopoeia, meaning, pattern and figurative language). How do these elements affect the overall meaning or theme of the artwork?

This rubric will be used to assess your ability to create a graphic organizer to summarize content from the unit.

The student will write an opinion paper (at least 3 pages) on The book If You Traveled on The Underground Railroad. They will need to include the title, author, setting, summary of the plot, and talk about the main characters. They will then present their report in front of the class.

Students will sequence the events of a story they have seen and heard.
