You are creating a book flyer. You must include the following in your book flyer: title, summary of the story, a picture, and a reason why the book should be chosen as our next chapter book.

Your creating a News Flyer to talk about the book of your choice. You will need to include the following in your book report: Title of the book, author of the book, a summary of the book, a moral or lesson that you took from the story, vocabulary words that were new to you that were in the story, a rating section where you tell how many stars you gave the book and why, a picture of the book cover correctly citing the book, and your name.

Rubric to use with Independent Reading projects.

Second grade has been learning about types of communities. Our project is to build a diorama as a "city planning" team showcasing a community.

I use this rubric with my first and second graders when they give their book talk presentations.

Students are to create a timeline concerning important events of their chosen person. There should be no less than 5 items on the timeline. a label of the event (birth, death, etc.), the date of the event, and a short description of the event. Descriptions should be in complete sentences and typed into Timeliner.

Students will perform a retell of a fairy tale or make some changes to a fairy tale to make it a silly story.
