Create an ecosystem poster that will consist of a real or imaginary ecosystem. label the abiotic and biotic factors, food webs and levels of organizations within the ecosystem. 3D Cell Model Rubric
The students will work on their own to create a 3D model of an animal cell or plant cell. The 3D model will contain all of the cell organelles including cell membrane and cytoplasm. Students will model the cell and organelles accurately, with labels and definitions/functions, in a creative and colorful manner. The materials the student choose to use is up to them, but the 3D model must be neat and can stand on its own.

Terrarium / Ecosystem
Students will be building a terrarium and aquatic ecosystem using the guidelines given. The system will be monitored daily for 2-3 weeks. Students will also be create diagrams and explanatory paragraphs for the carbon, nitrogen, and carbon dioxide / oxygen cycles , as well as man's possible disruption of these cycles. Household Chemistry Project
In this project you will investigate the chemistry of common household products. You are responsible to do: • Choose one personal hygiene product • Choose one household cleaning product • Use (http://householdproducts.nlm.nih.gov/index.htm) to research any two ingredients from each product (total of 4 chemicals) to do the following: o Determine the empirical formula o Determine its use or purpose o Determine its chemical and physical properties. o Determine any hazards or cautions associated with the ingredient. • Create a self-contained presentation of your research. Your display must include the following components: o An esthetically pleasing appearance o The title “Household Chemistry…” & creative sub-title. • Pictures of your products • An introduction. This should be a written paragraph introducing the idea that chemistry is instrumental in the development and improvement of many of the products that we use every day.
