LETTER OF COMPLAINT REGARDING PRODUCT OR SERVICE

Students have been asked to prepare a short 1 minute speech on a specific topic and present it in front of the class.

Year 5/6 narrative writing assessment rubric.

After selecting a research question about diversity, the student will write a 5-7 page essay that responds to the thesis. The essay must contain a thesis statement with supporting information. The essay must use a minimum of three sources and must include a bibliography; no more than two sources may be from the Internet. The student should read the "Accelerated" column of the rubric to understand the expectations for high-quality work.

Students will compare and contrast a modern event with a Roman dinner party.

Create your own talk show. Each student must play the role of a guest or host (interviewer) producing and discussing relevant topics.

McKenzie's Rubric for Note Taking

Students write a review about a self-selected topic after reading and examining the components of effective reviews in published magazines.

Choose a current full-length article from a major newspaper or news website that reports on current events. Write a summary of the article and a response to it. Please see "News Article Format" handout for additional directions.

The purpose is to tell your reader how to do or make something. This rubric scores the written instructions, and may be used with a rubric on presenting those instructions.

This rubric can be used to assess CLB 8-10 ESL students to evaluate their Reading Inference Skills.
