Use the following rubric to help measure participation in your classrooms. Copy and modify as you see fit.

Write an argumentative article about the Spanish-American War and use at least three reasons for going to or staying out of the war. Also include specific names, places, events, and vocabulary terms.

Poetry Portfolio Culminating Task: This project is the final assessment in the unit of poetry. This is a multi-week task wherein students compile original poetry written in and out of class showcasing the use of a myriad of poetic devices.

This Prezi should highlight the main ideas and concrete details in your essay. Commentary should be added to the presentation verbally and not on slides.

Student will define each of the four main roots and variations. (4 slides) For each root, student will find two words with that root(s) that are not listed on the handout and define them. (8 slides total) For each definition, illustrate the meaning by uploading a picture or short video.

TASK: Students will memorize and recite Antony's speech from Caesar's funeral.

Students will create an 18 frame storyboard depicting their assigned original outside reading and their proposed novel. Each student will then present his/her project to the class in an oral presentation.

The student will create an original work of art that depicts a MAJOR theme from the novel. Drawings or painting should be no more than half of a poster board. In addition to the artwork, the student will type a two page paper MLA style. (If you have forgotten MLA style, check this website: https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/01/. The paper should give an original synopsis of the novel and explain how the artwork accurately depicts that theme. Complete the webquest for the test.

Students are to create a movie trailer based on the novel they just read. Their job is to think about what the author was trying to convey and then capture the plot line, complete with theme and symbols, and present in a short film.

Students are required to use up to six academic vocabulary words correctly while correctly summarizing events from the current unit of study.

Further, you should include at least three short videos (maximum three minutes each) to help convey your information. At some point in the Prezi, upload the movie trailer to show to the class.
