Longmeadow High School World Language SWE Write clearly

This rubric is built on the 4th grade listening pa state standard for active listening and the process needed to develop that skill. Skill includes asking pertinent questions, summarizing and/or reflecting on what is heard.

Discussion is a very important part of the Theologies of Suffering course. As ministers, you will be expected to write clearly and engage others in discussion. The discussion boards in the course provide an opportunity to delve deeper into the topics. For postings through the voice discussion board, please include text as supporting documentation.

This rubric will be used to assign points for your discussion board participation. Each discussion board post is worth 10 points with a 100% basis. You will receive one point for posting an assignment by the due date. One point will be DEDUCTED IF YOU FAIL TO POST THREADS AND/OR REPLIES ON TIME. Please note the consequence is the same regardless of which offense has occurred. Additional points will be based on your contribution to the discussion.

This rubric is to be used to write a reflective essay over Primary Source materials read outside of class. Reflection over the material and how you internalize the information for yourself is expected to be reflected within the essay.

Students will write a feature article based on an interview conducted with an assigned teacher. Articles will demonstrate a clear understanding of the feature writing format and the ability to answer a question with supporting details. The article will be designed using codes and conventions of newspapers.

Rubric will be used to score teacher and student behaviors during reading instruction in a classroom.

Observing and interviewing real students and teachers can help highlight theoretical ideas in a way that simply reading about them cannot. To help connect theory to practice, you will carry out and write about 6 such field experiences. The write-up should be clear and concise (no longer than 2 pages). You are expected to make connections to the texts that demonstrate your understandings of the texts.

Students will complete a minimum of 45 hours of fieldwork in an approved elementary, self-contained classroom. Written observation reports will be required to identify the problems of public education system and provide the feasible solutions.

Undergraduate students: Ten hours of observation in a classroom or different classrooms with English learners. Observe what you notice. What connections to the text do you observe? Are you able to assist the teacher in any way? As you type the reflections, include the terminology presented in Diaz-Rico, Herrell & Jordan, Gibbons, or class lecture. Make sure you provide your own thoughts, critique, and reflections on the experience. Include a final journal entry with an overview of strategies observed, final reflection, and critique of the experience. Apply the new knowledge acquired in your typewritten observation reports.

Construct a resume based upon a future job that you would like to prepare for or construct a resume based on a current job that you are trying to obtain and prepare a Cover Letter to accompany your resume. You may use the Internet or Newspapers to apply for jobs.
