This rubric will evaluate how students work in the classroom in terms of participation(effort), following directions, and behavior.

Students will keep a listening log. Students will be asked to write several words/phrases as they are listening to the prompt, then give a specific evaluation of the piece or performance they heard.

Students will be able to listen and write clear concise sentences through dictation.

Vocabulary Builder: Students will define, illustrate a new vocabulary term as well as use the new vocabulary in a context appropriate sentence.

Students are given a reading comprehension quiz after reading a chapter of a book and participating in small group discussions. Students are expected to answer all questions in complete sentences using appropriate grammar and vocabulary.

Vocabulary Builder: Students will define, illustrate a new vocabulary term as well as use the new vocabulary in a context appropriate sentence.

Students will be able to write one to two sentences to answer the question, “What is your favorite day”? Students will be able to answer this question by using prior knowledge and by listening to classeroom readings.

Students will create a one-page illustration of their family tree, using pictures of their family and labeling family members as indicated by rubric (family label). Your family tree will include a highlight of at least 5 family members and one (of course) can be a pet! Also, one picture and description will be of you! You will introduce yourself and describe all the members of your family tree, providing name and age to the class (in Spanish, of course).

Edits for correct sentence structure, capitalization, punctuation, spelling, cursive legibility, and verb usage.
