The Stranger
The students have read a book with the class by Chris Van Allsburg titled, The Stranger. The students were given vocabulary words from the story and are being tested on these words for comprehension purposes. LAFS.2.RI.2.4 : Determine the meaning of words and phrases in a text relevant to a grade 2 topic or subject area.

Solar System
The students will be learning about the Solar System through different types of technology. At the end of the unit, the students will work in groups of four to create a virtual field trip pertaining to something within the unit for their peers to participate in. Each member in the group will partake in a different role and will be responsible for walking the class through their part of the field trip. Presentation may be supplemented by bringing in food, music, replicas or props.
