Students selected a virus, bacteria, fungi, or protist caused disease. Students required to research how it is caused, the symptoms of the disease, how it is treated, and the history of the disease. Students are also required to create a presentation to explain their selected disease to the rest of the class.

Students take samples from various areas to see if bacteria grow on nutrient agar.

Using an online comic strip generator or drawing by hand, each student will create a comic strip to show understanding of a specific, assigned mathematical concept. Students will create a children's book or write and illustrate a story that has relates to germs and how to keep them from being transmitted.

The students will work on their own to put together a poster for display. The poster will contain relevant information directly related to the theme of Bacteria, Viruses, Fungi, or Protists.

Student groups will work together to decide on a selected hot air balloon design and materials needed. Student groups will then bring in and use materials to create their balloons and launch them from the launch pad test site.
