Student chooses a book to read independently and then review. The review incorporates information about the book's characters, setting, plot, genre, theme, and writing style, but it is primarily a recommendation to other readers who might be considering reading this book. The post will be typed and submitted on the student's account on KidBlog.org

Create a comic book with 10 panels, using drawings and speech/thought bubbles for the science fiction book you have read.

After reading a realistic fiction book, students create book jacket book report with characters/scenes drawn on front and with Title, Author, and student name, inside front flap has the main character description, the inside back flap has the main problem and solution, and the back flap has the summary of the book.

With a small group, you will write and perform a skit based on a famous Virginian. The skit should cover important information about this person. You must use at least one simple prop.

You will be reading a modern fantasy chapter book. After reading the book, you will write a review of the book including introduction, summary, and your opinions of the book. You will also create an illustration to represent the book. You will present the review to Mr. B for him to film it and put on YouTube. We will view all students' reviews and vote on our favorite. The winner will receive an special prize or privilege. Practice your review at home before presenting to Mr. B!

After selecting a historical fiction chapter book, the student will make a newspaper set in the location the book took place including 1 feature article and at least 3 articles of the following choices: comics, advertisements, weather, news stories, feature stories, letters to the editor, obituaries, editorials, or sports. All articles must relate to the book that was read.

Students will read a mystery and create a book report using a cereal box. The box must be covered and decorated with details from the book. The cereal box must also feature an advertisement for a prize that is based on the story.

Directions: After you have read your book, pretend it has been made into a movie. Create a poster advertising your movie. This headline should include your favorite part of the story. Be sure to include the setting and main characters.
