Grade 8 Used a variety of geographic resources to gather, process, and uses appropriate vocabulary (e.g., site, situation, rural, developed, developing, urbanization, population density, population distribution, gross domestic product [GDP], gross national product [GNP], correlation, birth and death rates, quality of life, literacy rate, life expectancy) to describe their inquiries and observations.

Students identify Facts/Opinions after viewing a video. They identify the facts and opinions and explain how they know they are facts and opinions.

This is a rubric designed to measure a student's reflection on a given theme.

Students will write about a day in the life of a child o express how their family and culture has helped to create who they are today. A paragraph will be written.

Group Research PPT project

Students in groups will research and report on the impact of a global issue including the facts, reasons and solutions. Presented as a mind map on a large poster

The Presentation Team must present their unit guide, as a team, to the class. Each member of the presentation team must choose PowerPoint to present the assigned terms. You will earn a grade that reflects the accuracy and detail of your research, and the quality of the presentation of your terms. You must attach a 'Works Cited” section to your presentation.

Think of a situation that involves a conflict between 2 people. Write a roleplay that uses 1 of the conflict resolution skills to deal with it.

You will take on a new identity. You will prepare a powerpoint presentation. Presentation must contain a minimum of 10 slides. You are now from a Spanish speaking country of your choice. Create an authentic name for yourself, describe yourself, tell where you live, where you go to school and what classes you take. Describe a class and the teacher of that class. Show some friends and describe them. Show some school supply items and clothing items you need for back to school and the prices of those items in the currency of your country. How do you get to school, what activities you do in the classroom? You have a new family. Create parents, grandparents, siblings and of course a pet. Tell the ages of some of your family members. Show the house you all live in and give a description of the house and the rooms. What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Pictures you use must be authentic and culturally appropriate. Provide accurate, detailed and creative descriptions.
