Plan: This rubric is designed to supplement the application of readings on short story genres that students must implement into their creative work submissions. Students are expected to meet requirements that exemplify the skills learned in class to create a compelling and well-organized fictional narrative. The rubric is in regards to MLA written forms of English, as well as respecting privacy and copyright law when working with creative works meant for submission.

Students will create a model of a given landform. The student will include labels and explanations on how the landform was created.

Students will create a 3D landform using creative materials (examples: construction paper, sand, modeling clay, crayons, tissue paper). Students also have to find 3-5 important facts about the landform and present this information to the class.

Create a unique visual representation of at least six landforms, label landforms, and on the inside of the poster, define each landform, give facts about the landform.

This is a rubric assessing comprehension of bar graphs and assessing if graph has been designed properly. Students count how many candy color are in a bag of M&m's. They graph their results.

Students will work in groups of 4 to create a comic strip depicting a scene from one of the three books The Paper Bag Princess, Mirette on the High Wire or Escape North! The Story of Harriet Tubman.

Select on of the characters from 3 books on bravery, and write a conflict analysis essay. Describe the character, identify and discuss the conflicts he faces, and explain how the conflicts affected the character's development throughout the story. Use evidence to support the explanation.

This lesson will cover the life cycle of a butterfly. We will be able to observe the different stages, sequence the life cycle, label the cycles, and write the life cycle in sequential order using complete sentences.
